I'm about to have a shop again! Instrument projects have been in limbo since I got back from hell (see Joseph Campbell). I'll
So, if anyone following this has a desire to own a cigar box guitar or ukulele, or a cigar box amp, drop me a line.
I also, FYI, do repairs and adjustments, and build custom instruments. Also repair electronics in any guitar, do full neck regrets or fret leveling and polishing, adjust the instrument (strings, intonation, action, truss rod) and there's probably nothing so extreme or lost cause I wouldn't try.
For example, I rebuilt an acoustic guitar that had a destroyed side and top by patching the side with some similar appearing rosewood and making a new sitka spruce top with spruce bracing & spanish cedar kerfed lining, rosewood bridge, bone saddle & nut, original mahogany neck, rosewood sides & back, & leveled & polished the frets. I had to replace some cracked and broken binding around the guitar body and neck, as well. It turned out to be very loud dreadnaught guitar, & the spruce has a ways to go to break in & develop more shimmer & boom. I'll post pics when I can.
Projects past present & future:
Solid and semi-hollow bodied electric guitars,
wooden stringed instruments of an experimental or creative bent,
traditional solid wood acoustic guitars, ukuleles,
resonator guitars,
solid, semi-hollow, or acoustic bass guitars, etc.
I'm looking to build some beautiful (to see, play, & hear ;) acoustic ukuleles
sizes--soprano, concert, tenor.
woods used will be snakewood, ebony, various rosewoods, spruce, spanish cedar (cedrillo), black walnut, black cherry, yellow and western red cedar, sitka spruce, mahogany, makore, wenge, purpleheart, sapele, et al.
New pics coming! đź––
