The convention features Japanese creators of anime and manga, voice actors from anime series, Japanese musical acts, artists, vendors and exhibits, panels, workshops, and gaming. Events all focus on aspects of anime, manga, and Japanese culture. With the popularity of anime and manga growing in the 1990′s and 2000′s, anime conventions have seen positive growth in their attendance; AnimeNEXT is no exception. AnimeNEXT has been in existence since 2002 and is organized by Universal Animation.

Due to past and current circumstances, AnimeNEXT is on indefinite hiatus until further notice.

Universal Animation, Inc., the parent company of AnimeNEXT, is going through organizational restructuring and addressing many legacy issues.

To be clear this means that there will be no events this year, 2025, or going forward until further notice.

Universal Animation, Inc., the parent company of AnimeNEXT, recently faced circumstances that brought planning for our 2024 convention to a screeching halt.

While we are not at liberty to discuss the nature of the matter, it has been duly resolved.

That being said, the effect on our operations caused by this will not allow us to execute an event of the quality that everyone has come to expect.

It also would not allow us to incorporate the feedback that came out of our previous convention in 2023. As a result, we will not be holding AnimeNEXT 2024.

We apologize for the delay in being able to communicate this information. Thank you all for your understanding and for being continued members of our community. We look forward to seeing you again!

NEWS from our Tabletop Team:

Last night's attendance for ARE YOU A WEREWOLF wasn't what it usually is, and part of that is because it's a bit out of the way, so people didn't know how to get to it, or that it was going on. It's 10pm until 4am at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Let's see some more of our Werewolfers, and anyone needing to have some fun or unwind after the dance and other events!

The Artist Alley page () has been updated with an interactive map you can use to click on a booth and check out an artist's portfolio.

In addition, there is a link to a document you can use a reference for what artists are at each booth.

There will also be some guests booths dispersed among the Artist Alley. Guests will have a wide array of custom prints and offerings available for purchase. Prices will be available in their description on the interactive map as well as at their table.
