As part of the “Café con Texas” agenda, we had the opportunity to participate in the WTC Latin America Directors Meeting.

We met with business organizations from Monterrey and the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) to strengthen relationships, explore opportunities, and discuss international collaboration that supports economic development across the region. It was a valuable opportunity for cross-border dialogue and cooperation.

For the third time in 3 years, Edinburg EDC participated in "Café con Texas," an event that connects Texas economic development organizations and cities with Monterrey's business community.

Held at the UANL Internationalization Center, the event allowed us to highlight opportunities for investment and collaboration.

The Edinburg EDC is supporting Region One's Teacher Preparation Residency Program with a $15,000 contribution, helping provide partial tuition assistance for up to 15 Edinburg residents working toward teacher certification.

The program creates a pathway for paraprofessionals to become certified teachers while helping address workforce needs in high-demand areas such as special education, bilingual education, math, and science.

This investment supports workforce development by helping Edinburg residents gain new skills and access higher-paying career opportunities while strengthening the local talent pipeline. 🎓

🎓 Celebrating another successful round of the Bank On Int. Internship Program!

Our second cohort of UTRGV students wrapped up 10 weeks of hands-on experience with financial institutions across the Rio Grande Valley, putting their skills into practice and gaining valuable insight into careers in the banking industry.

Congratulations to our interns on completing the program and sharing what they learned through their final presentations! 👏

A special thank you to our participating banking partners — Greater State Bank, Lone Star National Bank, Rio Bank, Texas National Bank, and Vantage Bank — for providing valuable hands-on learning and professional experience throughout the program.
