A Special Thank You to Ron Fernandez

We want to give a very special and well-deserved THANK YOU to Ron Fernandez for his tireless hard work and the countless hours he put into helping make the Pirate Viking Summer Festival a success.

Ron wasn’t just operating his own Axe Throwing vendor booth—he went far above and beyond the call of duty by taking responsibility for our trash cans throughout the festival, emptying guest trash, hauling it away, and even using his own equipment and trailer to get the job done.

This is not an easy or glamorous job, and unfortunately, this year we simply could not find enough volunteers to give Ron the help he deserved. Yet Ron continued working, doing whatever needed to be done without hesitation.

Ron, we see you, we appreciate you, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you did.

People who are willing to work this hard for the good of the entire festival are precious, and we never want to take that dedication for granted. Moving forward, we need to do a better job of making sure Ron—and others who step up like he does—have the volunteers and support they need.

🏴‍☠️⚔️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS! ⚔️🏴‍☠️

One of the things we are most proud of at the Pirate Viking Summer Festival is being able to welcome kids 17 and under FREE with a paid adult — and we couldn’t continue doing that without the incredible people who volunteer their time, energy, and hard work to make this festival happen.

We want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to:

Whether you were working the front ticket counter, scanning guests at the gate, installing signs, helping with trash pickup throughout the festival, working the Festival Gift Shop, or simply jumping in wherever another set of hands was needed — every one of you played an important part in making this event a success.

There are so many jobs behind the scenes that our guests may never see, but every one of them matters. Your volunteerism helps us control the costs of putting on an event of this size and allows us to continue doing something very important to us: giving families an affordable experience and keeping admission FREE for kids 17 and under with a paid adult.

You gave us your time, your hard work, and your willingness to help. For that, we are truly grateful.

🏴‍☠️⚔️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR PIRATE VIKING SECURITY TEAM! ⚔️🏴‍☠️

We want to give a very special THANK YOU to our incredible Security Team for going above and beyond throughout the Pirate Viking Summer Festival this past weekend!

From keeping our guests, vendors, entertainers, and crew safe, to assisting vendors, helping maintain the bathrooms and grounds, answering questions, handling difficult situations, and stepping in wherever an extra hand was needed — you did so much more than just security.

We also recognize that security is not always an easy or rewarding job. Sometimes you are asked to handle difficult situations and circumstances beyond your control. You are often the ones who have to step forward when everyone else steps back, and you continued to do so with professionalism and dedication.

And like all of us, sometimes mistakes are made. Mistakes are part of being human. What matters is how we learn from them, support one another, and continue moving forward as a stronger team.

Your hard work, long hours, patience, and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty did not go unnoticed.

Events like this take a village, and we are extremely grateful for every member of our Security Team who helped protect and take care of our festival family.

🏴‍☠️⚔️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO AN AMAZING CREW! ⚔️🏴‍☠️

Behind every great festival are the people who show up, roll up their sleeves, and do whatever needs to be done.

I want to personally recognize Shaun Anders of El Paso, Texas; Shane Dean of Edgewood; Jeremy Flora of Edgewood; and last, but certainly not least, Fontaine Whitney.

These incredible people went above and beyond helping us organize, pick up supplies, set up, tear down, clean up, move bales of straw, put up signage, arrange props, wagons, decorations, and handle countless other jobs that most guests never see.

A festival like the Pirate Viking Summer Festival doesn’t just magically come together. It takes long hours, hard work, teamwork, and people willing to jump in wherever they’re needed.

Shaun, Shane, Jeremy, and Fontaine — THANK YOU! Your hard work, dedication, and willingness to help made a tremendous difference. We truly appreciate everything you did to help bring this festival to life.
