Pledge your support and learn more here:

We love old movies but also movies for today. Our solution: a detective comedy noir set in the present that feels straight out of a Bogart flick, one that takes itself too seriously and not seriously at all. We're already in post-production, and need your help to cross the finish line!

Refracted Theatre Company is looking for some help with finding the right actors for our upcoming mainstage "St. Sebastian", a searing dark dramedy about a gay white couple that is trying to flip a house in a historically Black neighborhood. Specifically, we are looking for actors to play Reuben, Ben and Gideon. Here is the character breakdown:
https://auditions.leagueofchicagotheatres.org/audition/refracted-theatre-company-equity-non-equity-st-sebastian-2/

Reuben: Lead, Male, to play 13 - 16, Black. Reuben is a teenager from the neighborhood that Gideon and Ben move into. He is smart, ambitious, curious and charismatic, occasionally skittish. His interests set him apart from other kids his age.

Ben: Lead, Male, 40's - early 50's, White. Ben, without getting his boyfriend Gideon's approval, has recently bought a house in a historically Black neighborhood. He is handsome, yet unassuming. While he provides stability in terms of perspective and can definitely keep up with Gideon, he can be somewhat out of touch.

Gideon: Lead, Male, 20's - 30's, White. Gideon is an EDI trainer and takes his work very seriously. He is smart, passionate, energetic, and verbose. When taken out of his comfort zone, he is easily riled, to the point of paranoid.
