Sharing . I really didn't think much about . I thought , this post , might be of interest , to others. I use cheese cloth , to wrap alot of my things. ... But, did not realize there was traditional idealism about wrapping and storing things in certain type of fabric .
The purpose of using all a natural fabric such as cotton, rather than the traditional pure silk is a monetary one. However, you decide to store your tools, cards and other items, ensure they are protected from natural and supernatural hazards.
When wrapping in cloth a natural fibre is recommended because it comes from earth instead of being synthetically made. Silk was used because of its ability to hold the intention or charge of the item for long periods. Not all fabrics are capable of doing so. If your item is being stored for a long period of time, you may need to cleanse or charge it before use. Another way to store items is in wooden boxes. Wrapped in cloth and then placed in a box is a good way to store items for extended periods.
Some practitioners use the colour of the elements that is associated with the item they are storing, while many just go for black. Black is used because it is the concentration of the colours and is considered to be a powerful deterrent from unwanted energies attaching themselves to the item when it is not in use.
Adding crystals like quartz and amethyst is another level of cleansing and protection to your items. Selenite, shungite, labradorite, moonstone, and fluorite are also commonly used. Before adding crystals to your items, make sure you research them well. The energy and intentions of the stones should charge, protect or work with the item they are being kept with. The stones will also need to be cleansed on a regular basis.
