I saw a woman throwing away the flowers I'd left on my mother's grave — my life was never the same when I found out why.
Lately, I'd been visiting my parents' graves and leaving fresh flowers for both of them.
But after a while, I noticed something strange.
The flowers on my father's grave were always exactly where I'd left them. The ones on my mother's grave, however, kept disappearing.
At first, I tried to convince myself it meant nothing.
But it happened too many times.
Eventually, I realized someone had to be removing them.
So one morning, I arrived at the cemetery much earlier than usual, hoping to catch whoever was doing it.
As I walked toward the graves, I suddenly stopped.
A woman was standing with her back to me beside my mother's headstone.
For one brief second, I assumed she had come to mourn.
Then I saw her lift the flowers I'd brought the week before and toss them into a nearby trash can without hesitation.
My anger took over.
"EXCUSE ME, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and disbelief.
The woman slowly turned to face me.
My life was never the same after she spoke. ⬇️
