📣 We’d love to hear from you about the future of Pioneer Days!
So far, we’ve only had a few people take our survey about the future of Edgerton Pioneer Days, and we really want to hear from more members of our community.
One thing we’ve noticed in the few responses we’ve received is that some people seem to be really concerned that we are considering getting rid of the Fish Fry. We want to make it clear: We don’t want to lose the Fish Fry any more than anyone else does! ❤️🐟
The Fish Fry is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it is an important part of Pioneer Days. It will continue as long as the Jackson family and their friends are willing to continue volunteering their time and efforts to make it happen. We truly appreciate all of the hard work they put into making the Fish Fry such a success every year!
We also want to reiterate something that is sometimes misunderstood: Pioneer Days is not operated or funded by the City of Edgerton. It is organized by a small committee of eight local women, all of whom have been involved with Pioneer Days in some capacity for many years.
We all have jobs, families, and other commitments outside of Pioneer Days, and putting on this festival is A LOT OF WORK. We love this community and we love Pioneer Days, but we also want to make sure the festival is sustainable and manageable for the people who volunteer their time to make it happen.
The purpose of our survey is not to take away the things people love about Pioneer Days. We want to hear what our community enjoys, what you’d like to see continue, what you think could be changed, and what ideas you may have for the future. We are also looking for ANYONE who is willing to help us plan and host this annual festival in ANY way they are willing.
Please take a few minutes to fill out our survey and share your thoughts. We need to hear from more than just the people who are already involved in planning the festival. Your feedback will help us make decisions about the future of Pioneer Days.
