The cards will be moving—and so will the food.

Edenton Commons welcomes Carrozza as an Edenton Commons Preferred Partner and the caterer for Monte Carlo for a Cause: A Charity Casino Night on December 19, 2026.

This will not be a sit-down-and-stay-put kind of evening. Carrozza is creating food guests can enjoy as they move from space to space, table to table, and game to game throughout Edenton Commons.

Place a bet. Try your luck at another table. Explore the building. Then grab another bite before the next hand is dealt. If you prefer to slow down and enjoy this delicious food while sitting down, don't worry, we'll have a seating area too.

It. Is. Happening.

This week, the exterior tiles are coming off all three upper-level windows at Edenton Commons—revealing a view of Broad Street that has been hidden for decades.

Keep an eye on the building, because we are turning the reveal into a race: the first person to post a photo in the comments from this location across the street showing all three windows fully uncovered --- will receive their choice of logo glassware from The Black Tiger Bar & Lounge - pint glass, wine glass, tasting glass. (Available at opening in December 2026).

Ready, set…watch those windows.

The countdown to Monte Carlo for a Cause begins now.

Tickets for our first signature event at Edenton Commons go on sale Friday, August 21— for Monte Carlo for a Cause held on December 19.

Join the Events at Edenton Commons email list by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, and you will be entered into a random drawing to receive a $50 gift card toward any public event in 2027—including galas, festivals, concerts, and more.

After Day 12 of Demo

Ready to dance the evening away? Better wait a little longer—there are holes in the dance floor!

Trenches are now open across the lower floor to make way for new plumbing, and the old HVAC ductwork is being removed upstairs. Crews are also peeling back 76 years of renovations, revealing layers of brick, plaster, drywall, and plywood shelving along the building’s walls.

The drywall has now been removed from the inside of the upstairs Broad Street windows. Does anyone have a photo of the building from when these windows were still visible? Post it in the comments!

There is still plenty of work ahead, but each day reveals more of the building’s history and makes room for what comes next.

Eight days into demolition, Edenton Commons is beginning to open up.

All of the interior walls scheduled for removal have come down, and several dumpsters of debris have already been filled and hauled away. Upstairs, you can now see clearly from the front of the building to the back.

Nearly all of the windows have been uncovered, allowing more natural light into the building. The only remaining covered windows are upstairs along Broad Street.

The next phase is also beginning to take shape. Floors are being marked for new plumbing locations as preparation continues for the future restrooms, kitchen, suites, and other spaces throughout the building.

There is still a great deal of work ahead, but eight days of demolition have already made the building more open and prepared it for what comes next.

Demo Day 3 is finished inside Edenton Commons.

Layer by layer, the building is starting to open back up. Old shelving is coming down, hidden features are coming back into view, and the future layout is becoming easier to imagine.

It still looks rough right now, but this is how restoration begins.

Side by side, the change is already starting to show.

Monte Carlo for a Cause: Help Select the Third Charity Partner

Now we need your help identifying the third charity partner for Monte Carlo for a Cause. The organization should be local to Edenton, Chowan County or the surrounding area, or have a clear connection to serving people in our local community.

If there is a nonprofit, school-related organization, civic group, arts group, youth program, preservation effort, community organization, or local cause you think should be considered, please leave the name in the comments or send us a message.

Please include a short note about why you think the organization should be considered. Suggestions will be reviewed as we finalize the three charity partners for our first Monte Carlo for a Cause.

Monte Carlo for a Cause: Charity Partner #2

Monte Carlo for a Cause will support three charity partners. Our second confirmed charity partner is the Edenton-Chowan Educational Foundation, which supports local education, students, teachers, and school enrichment opportunities in our community.

We wanted this first event at Edenton Commons to be more than a night out. It should also help support organizations doing meaningful work in Edenton and Chowan County.
