The Start of a Vision
In 2013, I saw a vision of a bunch of teenagers singing and praising God. I did not understand the timing of it all but knew this was something that God wanted me to pursue. In 2016, I had some major health challenges and had to come out of work due to my disabilities. While feeling that I was at my lowest point, I was reminded of the vision from 2013. I went to Morehead High School, while still in a wheel chair, and gave my proposal. I was expecting a NO and there was a resounding YES. The principal recommended that I include Holmes Middle School. ( I had no intentions of going there but our ways are not God’s ways.) I went over to ask fo only 8th graders and was told YES again with the stipulation that 6th grade through 8th grade be included. As over whelmed as I was, I agreed.
In 2017, the year started off rocky. We had a Morehead Gospel Choir that would only meet on Tuesday’s and a Holmes Gospel Choir that would meet on Thursdays. i didn't’t have but 10 students from from Morehead at about 20 students from Holmes. After many practices, the students came together and decided that they wanted to sing together and we began meeting at Holmes Middle School.
We have traveled all over the Triad as well as Virginia sing praises to God. Currently, we have around 35 students enrolled and they love to sing. Pray for us as we strive to be good and faithful in His kingdom.
