The University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire's Voice and Choral Area features more than 400 students performing in its six ensembles and three studios. Each of the six ensembles and three studios are open to all UW-Eau Claire students by audition. The program has achieved a distinguished reputation for outstanding and innovative performance, including nine performances at state, regional, and national m
eetings of the American Choral Director's Association. Several of the ensembles are annually heard in regional and international concert tours. In addition to on- and off-campus concerts, the UW-Eau Claire Voice and Choral Area offers many members the opportunity to participate in Cabaret, an annual student run, fully staged variety show. The Voice and Choral Area also hosts the Clearwater Choral Festival and Invitational every year, allowing hundreds of high school choirs and their students across Wisconsin and the Midwest the opportunity for an inclusive and excellent musical festival experience. Diversity is a hallmark of the UW-Eau Claire Voice and Choral Area with its ensembles and studios emphasizing the total spectrum of the rich and varied 500-year choral traditions. Due to the popularity of the choral and voice programs at UW-Eau Claire, the campus has been recognized as "Wisconsin's Singing University."In addition to on- and off-campus concerts, the UW-Eau Claire Choral Area offers many members the opportunity to participate in Cabaret, an annual mid-winter variety show featuring large and small fully-staged performances.
