Our Story

Hi. Whee are Susie + Michael, the artist and maker behind Whee Creative.

Susie Santee is an artist + educator. Her mixed-media abstract art focuses on the creative process and is very experimental, exploring internal and external landscapes while capturing personal and intuitive moments through the visual language of mark-making, color, shape, line and texture. All frames are handmade by Michael Buenger, her wonderful and supportive husband. When not in her studio, she spends most of her time with her husband and two sons. Michael Buenger is an IT Analyst by day and woodworker by night (and weekend). In addition to creating frames for Susie's artwork, he makes custom frames using oak, maple and walnut, and also makes wood puzzlers and yard games. His love of woodworking was passed down by his late father and two grandfathers.
