Attention performers and theatre artists ages 16-24! We encourage you to check out WSF's young artists' troupe, Merely Players.

Merely Players is an audition-based young performers’ troupe with compensated membership through the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival. There will be four major components to membership - public performance opportunities beyond our four walls (Ambassadors), opportunities for shadowing professional actors & technicians (Access Program), producing an educational traveling program for kids (Shakespeare for (Very) Young Audiences) and a humorous, irreverent performance series (Late Night Shakes). This is the perfect summer gig for students and pre-professionals who hope to gain theatrical experience!

The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild is seeking applications for their 2022 Scholarship Program. $1,200 in scholarship money is awarded annually to a high school senior(s) pursuing music or theatre in college in the fall and/or a college student(s) continuing in Music or Theatre. Scholarships will be awarded in May. Applications are available at cvtg.org.

Exciting news! Next Sunday, American Players Theatre is offering a free virtual Sunday Salon for Teens!

Bring your questions, comments and queries about all things APT. We'll tackle casting, design and themes and hear all about the behind-the-scenes leaps and stumbles that brought them to opening. Join us for an hour of laughs and stories with APT's education director David Daniel and core company actor Kelsey Brennan. Registrants will receive a code for $25 tickets to APT's production of Tom Stoppard's Rough Crossing, playing in the Hill Theatre through August 7. We'll see you there!

We are excited to announce a free playwriting workshop through Zoom. Playwrights Jim and Jane Jeffries will help budding writers take an idea to the stage. You'll learn about building characters, dialogue and plot lines, how to engage an audience and how to successfully end your play. Workshop: 10:30am to 12:30pm on April 24 and May 22. The first session will be the "how to" portion and then the participants will be sent off to write a short play. The second session will allow participants to share feedback about the newly created plays. If you are interested in the workshop, email Ann Sessions at [email protected]. Also, a (mini) North HS Drama Club update! I've heard that many afterschool clubs have been given the green light to resume programming! North admin is in the process of getting the Drama Director job posted (which must be done every year), which is the first step in moving forward! This is good news!!
