HOW THE FUN WORKS
Visitors and locals alike may reserve bikes online, on the phone, or in person at The Local Store. Upon check-in at the front desk of the store, staff will be available to recommend destinations, provide route maps, show customers how to use the bikes, and generally get users set up for a successful outing around Eau Claire. We proudly offer Giant’s Momentum LaFree E+ bikes from our downtown friend, Shift Cyclery & Coffee Bar. They are a perfect introduction to the world of E-bikes with an easy-to-get-on and off step-through frame, a powerful battery and motor for five stages of pedal assist, and a comfortable design with cushy tires and seats for the smoothest ride. Created for recreational riders, it lets you cruise up hills and cover longer distances in less time, up to 65 miles on a single charge. The service will launch with six bikes available and will scale with demand. LAUNCHING MAY 1, 2023
Volume One Introduces a New Experience for Downtown Eau Claire

POPULAR ROUTES & DESTINATIONS
Rail trails, bridges, rivers, tunnels, and more! Get out there and ride along the gorgeous river, lake, and park views that make Eau Claire a beautiful place to be. While you can take your rental on any road or urban trail you’d like, we can recommend several paved (and wooded/packed gravel) bike trail options departing from and returning to The Local Store, with minimal on-street travel. Pick from several popular urban loops from 5 to 13 miles, take a longer trail ride north to Chippewa Falls or south along the Chippewa River, or just ride wherever you want! URBAN LOOPS
City Center Route – 8 miles
Putnam Park Woods Route – 5 miles
Ultimate Eau Claire Bridge Loop – 13 miles
Altoona’s River Prarie Route – 8 miles
City Commerce Loop –10 miles

Starting this Saturday, August 1, paid parking will be enforced throughout downtown Eau Claire from 1pm-11pm, Monday-Saturday.

Here's what you should know if you're planning to stop by for a bike or scooter rental:

• Downtown parking will be facilitated through the Passport Parking app. Drivers enter the unique zone number displayed on nearby Passport signs. Our area's zone number is 54722.
• If you prefer not to use an app, a physical parking meter will be available across the street from The Local Store. It accepts coins and cards.
• Street parking in the surrounding zone costs $0.50 per hour. This is slightly cheaper than the $1.00 per hour zones further downtown.
• ALL surrounding street parking is free until 1pm.
• We share a lot across the street from the Oxbow Hotel and The Lakely. This lot is available for your use AFTER 5pm.

⭐ YOUR BEST BET: If you don't mind a short walk, look for parking on Wisconsin St. or Galloway St., where parking is always free. Be mindful to avoid blocking any driveways or garage doors.

Our bikes are prepped and ready for rent with Wisconsin Bike Week right around the corner, but if you prefer something with a little more zip and a little less sweat, remember that we offer a fleet of 16 e-scooters as well! They're perfect for group scoots with family, friends, or coworkers.

Available in two or four hour time slots, rentals include a helmet and come in at about half the cost of an equivalent ride on a BIRD scooter!

💡Here's an idea to inspire your next group scoot:

🍻 Beer&🍔 Burgers - Head off from The Local Store & Volume One Gallery on the trail to Phoenix Park and continue north on the trail towards the beautiful high bridge (group photo recommended). After crossing the high bridge continue on the trail where you'll find your first stop, The Brewing Projekt! Stop in for one of their award winning beers, and enjoy their awesome patio that overlooks the Chippewa River. After your refreshment, continue on the trail to your next stop the Court'N House to enjoy one of their famous burgers for lunch. From there, you can head back to The Local Store any way you would like, feeling more refreshed than ever with a belly full of beef and the wind in your hair.

Tips & Tricks (for life and for scootin') -

🗺 - It's not about the destination, it's about the journey

🐝 - Watch for bees(if you do see bees on your ride, the scooters are able to outrun them with ease)

👬👭 - Great for groups, and work outings!
