Years in discussion, months in planning, and TODAY it's HERE! As a part of the planning committee, we are excited to share the news that ARTFLUENCE of Eau Claire is formed! Working together with wonderful partners in our art community, the website to support and celebrate local artists is LIVE! Our goal is simple. Put all the art resources available in an easily accessible format that all artists can finally have an equal seat at the table. If you are an area artist, please add yourself to our growing searchable database. Art organizations and supporters of art, join us, as well. With the backing of Visit Eau Claire, UWEC, Color Block, the Sculpture Tour, and others, we will be hosting the databases, a calendar of art events, area call to arts, a blog of art topics for discussion, and more! Today, Yolanda C. stopped in to get basic information about our local art groups and to tell us about her growing indigenous art business. Currently, her work is on display in South Dakota, but we hope you will be able to enjoy her oils, acrylic, and beadwork in our area soon! With ALL the activity at the gallery and many of our artists traveling, our Mentor Program has been somewhat quiet, but we are getting back to the list of waiting mentees who would love a bit of guidance from our established artists. If you are on the list, we'll be reaching out soon. There is a new resource for ALL local artists and art enthusiasts that we have been working to develop, and we were excited to give today's emerging artist a sneak peek! We have been developing this for the last year, and it's finally ready! The BIG announcement will be shared for everyone on Monday, so stay tuned!

We met with a group of caring individuals today who came into the gallery today to tell us more about Brain Injury Awareness and how our artists can support them. Already a Social RX partner, we expect that there will be many opportunities for our artists to work together to use art as a healing modality, such as mandala painting, neurographic sketching, and more. While many brain injuries are not always obvious, there are many ways we can minimize concerns while providing dignity and compassion. For further information, check the Brain Injury Association of Wisconsin. We have said many times: Art is for Everyone! One young man is a veteran, and we were able to present to him one of the first of the finished journals that we are creating in our Art is a Gift program! Just a reminder that we could really use your help folding paper and creating the rest of the 30 journals! Stop in soon to help.
