Putnam County High School Chorus & Piano

Hi! My name is Amanda Stover and I have the joy of teaching Putnam County High School students how to sing and play the piano. Today, I get to share the exciting news that a project dear to my heart, expanding the PCHS Piano Lab, has been approved and funded by the Putnam Education Foundation.
This $1300 grant is going to allow us to purchase 2 full-sized electric keyboard stations! Our piano students have been working from small keyboards which are great for beginners (Piano 1), but don’t allow for teaching dynamics, expression and nuance. Having these 2 full size keyboards will greatly benefit our Piano 2, 3 and 4 students and will unlock a whole new level of playing for all of these budding musicians. We couldn’t be more excited!

Thank you, Putnam Education Foundation, for recognizing the importance of learning expression through music. You are all invited to the Spring Piano Recital in May! 🎹

Join us on March 31st for our Annual Spring Fine Arts Night! Like last year, it will be a “walking tour” of the Fine Arts programs/classrooms.

Start off on Main Street for the Art show whilst enjoying ambient music from the piano students. Make your way to the Chorus room for some sweet serenading, move to the Band room to hear their powerful playing, and finish the evening in the Black Box for a sneak peek of our Spring musical, Hadestown. Admission is free, we hope to see you there! 🎨🎶🎭

Each one shared their talents and represented us well. Special shout outs to Leah Helms and the Girls Trio for bringing home Region Runner-Up medals! Job well done, ladies!

Back by popular demand, PCHS Chorus will be selling Singing Telegrams for $5 this week Monday-Wednesday (2/2-2/4) before and after school on Main Street and during lunch in the Chorus Room. Song performances and sweet treats will be delivered next Wednesday, February 11th during 2nd Block. See Mrs. Stover (Room 603) for more details!

We are so of PCHS Chorus students Leah Helms, Hunter Mincey, Kannericka Nelson and Bobby West for representing Putnam County High School so well at GMEA District XI Honor Chorus last week! They created beautiful music and made lasting memories. The arts are alive and well in Putnam County! 🎶
