WEATHER 101 WITH NICK

Preble County EMA invites you to join local WHIO meteorologist Nick Dunn for an evening of weather education designed for all ages!

Our area has experienced a significant amount of severe weather in recent months, including an EF1 tornado confirmed northwest of Eaton by the National Weather Service. Events like this remind us how quickly conditions can change and why weather awareness is important for everyone.

Nick will explain what to watch for, how severe weather develops, which conditions should be reported, and how weather spotters help meteorologists and emergency officials keep our communities informed. The two-hour program will also provide plenty of time for questions.

📅 Monday, September 14
🚪 Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
⏰ Training from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

📍 Preble County Fairgrounds
Expo Expansion Building
722 S. Franklin Street, Eaton

Who should attend:

First responders
Families and children
Weather enthusiasts
Members of the general public
ALL AGES ARE WELCOME—no previous weather training is required!

We will also raffle off FOUR Midland NOAA Weather Radios that evening!

September is National Preparedness Month, making this the perfect opportunity to learn more about severe weather and help your family become better prepared.
