I am just riding on coattail of Stephanie Williams' historic Eisner's nomination and raise in fame, (congrats on all success) I had the privilege of working with her on a short Spider-Ma'am comic on Marvel Infinity.

I usually get about 40 mins in the car waiting to pick up my kid from school, I usually spent the time to sketch.

The main reason for picking this particular reference was the folds in the skirt. Fabrics are not easy to predict, but there's pattern to how to function. The more I draw these, the easier to imagine how the creases works.

I don't know who needs to hear this. Back when I taught kids drawing, one thing I stress a lot is capturing generally shapes with consist of majority of light, long strokes, then get into more detail with each pass, more like process of "sculpting".
