Last day of ! Here until 5pm 🌞🍎

I don’t know if I’ve shared on Instagram but I lived in Stehekin for many years and Wenatchee was the town we travelled to for any “real world” need like doctor appointments, etc. It’s been so cool to be back in this familiar town, seeing people I love, and hanging with the plants I’ve missed so much ❤️

Day 27 of ’s challenge “Garden”

In a sense my garden is what started my business… my first few products for Fern In The Forest were art prints of paintings I made inspired by my garden! I was looking through catalog, deciding what I was going to grow in my garden that year when I was inspired to paint the different, gorgeous vegetables I was seeing. I loved discovering so many unique varieties that I had never heard of. Still, now, so many of my paintings are inspired by the garden.

Nowadays my community garden plot is one of my favorite things ever!!

I’m so excited to tell y’all that the sweetest thing happened at the this past weekend! Secret jurors chose me for Best in Show for 2D Mixed Media 🥺

Being a self employed artist is truly an amazing job to have and I feel extremely lucky for this to be my life! That being said, it’s also I very solitary job. Market season is exhausting but also life-giving for me. Meeting all of you and hearing how you relate to my art (and therefore me!) TRULY fills my cup. And this was icing on the cake!! It felt like the self employed equivalent of getting employee of the month, haha. Thank you Martha, thank you , thank you everyone who came and supported me ❤️❤️❤️

HOWDYYYYY!! For day 15 of ’s challenge I’m actually doing day 14 🙃🙃🙃 oops!! For day 14, “yummy” I wanted to show my other artistic sign- baking ❤️

Before going full time with my art business I was a professional baker for about 10 years, and a hobby baker before that. I love, love, love baking.

Day 10 of ’s challenge! Today is “Pencil”. These are mooostly colored pencil but pencil nonetheless! I don’t really think of colored pencil as one of my main mediums but I guess it kind of is. It’s what I reach for when I’m in my sketchbook and how I like to add texture when I work digitally (I use the pencil “brush” option in procreate).

I hope y’all are enjoying getting to see more of my sketchbook and things I don’t often find “pretty enough” for the feed 😵‍💫
