White Rabbit Red Rabbit is coming to EAC! This award-winning experimental theater production will see an actor (a different actor each night) reading the script cold for the first time with the audience the night of the performance.
How does that work? Brilliantly! While it is is unorthodox, White Rabbit Red Rabbit has been acclaimed around the world with over 1,000 performances by notable actors including Whoopi Goldberg, John Hurt and Sinead Cusack.

Stage East will be presenting a staged reading as part of the Sunday Series at the Eastport Arts Center on February 23rd at 3 PM.

This staged reading requires no memorization, limited rehearsal time and only one performance followed by a discussion. It is the perfect opportunity for those who are new to theatre as well as busy people who have experience with acting.

Time to get ready for the Stage East New Year's Eve show! Interest meeting for the New Year's Eve show, My Favorite Things on Saturday, November 9th at the Eastport Arts Center from 1-3 PM or by appointment.

Stage East will present “My Favorite Things,” a musical r***e, for New Year’s Eve, emphasizing Broadway material, though other acts are also welcome. The show will conclude with a group number for all participants.

Director Beth Goodliff asks those interested in participating to email her at elizabethnicholsgoodliff at gmail dot com with ideas for what they would like to perform.

An informal drop-in meeting will be offered from 1-3 pm, Saturday, November 9, at Eastport Arts Center, for those interested in participating. Music for the group number will be handed out. Performers don’t need to stay for the entire time, and if unable to make the meeting can make an appointment to meet with Beth at a later date.

Goodliff has been involved in many productions with Stage East including, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (NYE 2019), It’s a Wonderful Life with new music composed by Goodliff live via zoom (NYE 2020), the 2019 Broadway R***e (November 2019), Music and the Movies (NYE 2023) and the team effort of the 2024 Moose Island Follies (July 2024).

A Musical R***e for New Year’s Eve

“I simply remember my Favorite Things…”

Back by popular demand, Stage East is excited to present a musical r***e show for New Year’s Eve. Director, Beth Goodliff, is planning a show where performers can share their “Favorite Things” with an emphasis on Broadway musicals but other acts are welcome as well. There will be a large group number at the end for all participants.

People who are interested in being part of this musical extravaganza should contact Beth Goodliff at elizabethnicholsgoodliff at gmail.com with your “Favorite Things” and ideas for what you would like to perform.

There will be an informal drop-in meeting on Saturday, November 9th at the Eastport Arts Center from 1-3 PM for those interested in participating and to pick up music for the group number. You do not need to stay for the entire time. If you can not attend this meeting you can make an appointment for a future date to work with Beth and practice.

The Eastport Arts Center is excited to be one of the launch locations for the highly anticipated world premiere of 'Wake', an evocative new play by playwright Daniel Reynolds, set to captivate audiences this October.
'Wake' promises a powerful and humorous exploration of human resilience and the search for meaning in the midst of life’s most profound challenges. Reynolds, known for his poignant storytelling and rich character development, brings to life a narrative that is both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant.

A special Theater Salon will be offered at 7 pm, Friday, September 27, at Phoenix Fine Wines, 73 Water Street, downtown Eastport. Live music from Cindy Jollotta, readings from the play, and a sneak peek at a new musical premiering in June will complete the event.

Eastport Arts Center is excited to announce the revival of spectacular Old Home Week highlight, the Moose Island Follies, at 3 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday, July 3, as Eastport 4th of July week activities reach a fever pitch. Returning after a four-year hiatus, the event will be the 16th hosted at the center—as ever, an action-packed variety show! New acts and old favorites, local and imported, will appear onstage to benefit the Center’s year-round programs for all ages.
The show is being directed by Elizabeth Nichols-Goodliff; co-producers are Catherine Adelman and Anne Moody; and emcee is Melissa Newcomb.
All seats are $20 for the show, with attendees 17 and under admitted for $5; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Concessions will be available for purchase. A pre-show reception will be offered prior to each show, starting at 2:15 and 6:15 pm respectively. Tickets are available via the link below, or at the EAC box office prior to each show.
The 2024 Moose Island Follies have been supported by Eastport’s Horn Run Brewing and The First National Bank.
EAC is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and at www.eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible.
