Hearts for the Arts auction a heart-felt success!

The 6th annual online show featured 145 pieces in various mediums by over 60 artists; over half of the works were sold within a 10 day period online, exceeding our fundraising target. While most of the art was created by artisans currently living locally, works also came from artists who come here seasonally or have lived here in the past, but now living in NB, NH, VT, PA, NC, NV and CA. Most of the artwork purchased will stay here in Maine, but some pieces found new homes in VA, FL, NC, KS, TX, CA and WA.

The artists receive 70% percent of the proceeds, although many opt to donate all or half of their sale. The remaining funds go to support various community events through the year; events are mostly outdoors, free and encourage active creativity for people of all ages. Supported events include the Mermaid and Witches of Eastport Festivals, now presented by the Eastport Arts Center, Downeast Pride, presented by the Downeast Rainbow Alliance and various musical events including a special free concert by the bay, the Friday of Salmon Festival weekend.

We hope to see you at our supported events through the year and we look forward to the 7th annual Hearts for the Arts in 2027!
