My students and dance moms are the best gift I could have ever received this season. When I say this is much more than dance, I truly mean it. Being a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a firm teacher who pushes them when they don’t feel good enough, a cheerleader on the sidelines, their counselor when they are having difficulties amongst each other or the outside world, and more…. THIS is what it’s about. As much as I may have taught them and positively impacted their lives…THEY have forever impacted mine. As adults, we can learn a lot from children. As teachers we can learn a lot from our students…through their innocence, simplicity, pure hearts, and eagerness to learn. Children just want to feel loved, heard, and understood. What better way to experience these things than through their teachers and the art form called dance which we love so much?!
