TCC Community Orchestra

TCC Community Orchestra Concert Schedule for 2012-13 looks good. October 9, December 20, March 26, May 7. All concerts scheduled at TCC's PACE.

The members of the community orchestra are talented adult musicians who enroll through the continuing education department of Tulsa Community College. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the music building of Tulsa Community College, southeast campus, and we perform four concerts per year. For membership information please contact the orchestra's musical director, Pete Peterson.

What a great start to the new season!! Yesterday, the orchestra and band played their first concert of the 2019-20 season. It was a stirring performance and I was quite honored to be on stage with the orchestra. Congratulations to the orchestra and band. Looking forward to our second concert on Tuesday, December 17. Hope everyone can make plans to attend. Details will be posted as we get closer to the next concert date.

I hope you can read this banner. Let me know if not. The TCC community orchestra and band are excited to present our first concert of the season on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 pm in the Van VanTrease PAC on TCC's southeast campus. This performance is free of charge.
The orchestra will start the program off with Harry Potter's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. We will also perform the final movement of Dvorak's New World Symphony and Sibelius's Valse Triste. Hope to see your there.

I am excited to get started with our 2019-20 season. The community orchestra and band start rehearsing the week of August 19. Program details of our concerts will be advertised prior to each concert. All of our concerts will be held in PACE on TCC"s southeast campus at 7:30 pm.

The concert dates are:

Tuesday, May 5, 2020

I am looking forward to the TCC Community Orchestra's upcoming season! Our first rehearsal is Tuesday, August 14.

String players are welcome to enroll.

We have 2 horn openings and the 2nd bassoon spot needs filled. Please contact me if you are interested.

We will perform a variety of music in our concerts including Olympic Fanfare and Theme, Sibelius's Finlandia, the 1st movement of Beethoven's 6, movement 2 of Tchaikovsky's Pathetique Symphony, Themes from 007, and much more.

Well, another season has come and gone with the community orchestra. Once again, I enjoyed working with the orchestra and we certainly ended with a bang at our last concert. Phantom of the Opera was so very beautifully played. I am looking forward to next season.
We will start rehearsing again on Tuesday, August 14. If you play a string instrument and would like to consider being a member of the TCC Community Orchestra, please join us on August 14.

The TCC Orchestra and Band will be performing our final concert of the season tomorrow, May 8 at 7:30 in the PACE on TCC's southeast campus.

The orchestra will be playing the last two movements of Pictures at an Exhibition, Kalinnikov's Symphony No. 1, movement 1, and finally Phantom of the Opera.

We have had a very good season, and ourstring sections are growing.

I hope you will be able to attend. Tickets are $5.00. These funds go toward schlarships for our wonderful musicians.

What an April 6 we had.......snow and an earthquake. Happy spring! I thought I would send my weekly update on my TCC page, so here it is:

I think it would be helpful if we had a string sectional for part of the upcoming rehearsal on Tuesday, April 10, so...........

We'll play through Phantom and Pictures with minimal rehearsing for the first 20 minutes or so. At about 7:20 we'll rehearse the Kalinnikov from Letter O. At about 7:40 we'll rehearse Fingal's Cave from the Animato just before letter G.
At about 8:00 I would like to rehearse the strings.

I am looking forward to our rehearsal. We have a very good concert in the makings for Tuesday, May 8.

The TCC community orchestra is growing and we are very excited to present our next concert:

Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm in TCC's southeast campus PACE.
This performance is free.

We will be performing the March from Sibelius's Karelia Suite, the beautiful Andante from Brahms Symphony No. 3 and the exhilarating Jubilee from Chadwick's Symphonic Sketches.
Please join us for an exciting evening of wonderful music and support these fine musicians.
