Kinda chic to audition for the fall play…
Auditions for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” start Monday!
Email Director Jason Narvy to reserve your spot ([email protected]).
Folks auditioning should prepare a monologue from Shakespeare no more than 40 lines or 3 minutes. Feel free to showcase additional talents… singing, playing instruments, juggling, sword swallowing, etc.
You may indicate your talents to Jason in your email.
Auditions will be Monday (8/31) and Tuesday (9/1) 6-10pm in the Smith McFarland Theater with possible callbacks on Thursday (9/3).

We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to the Fine Arts Building next week!!!!
Please remember we will have a full department meeting for all majors, minors, and friends on Tuesday at 2pm in the Smith-McFarland Theatre. This is a great moment to find out about all the exciting things this semester and get involved.

Shakespeare performance workshop with the great Ben Crystal. Ben is internationally renowned for his work with both original and contemporary practices. This workshop focused on honing the internal engine,  deftly turning physical action into internal passion and power for textual delivery and the creation of characters whose heightened presence matches their language. Ben helped students create a space where listening and trust between scene partners translates into deliberate impulse and creates an experience where actors can be daring, sharing, and expressive.

Congrats to our wonderful members of Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honor society, as they partnered with the Rose Mekeel Childcare Center to present a collection of fairy tales as puppet shows. ESU students wrote, directed, performed, and built all the puppets.
It was so amazing to have all our visitors in the theatre this morning!
