September is for building what comes next.
As we head into September, we’re officially kicking off the road to Year 11 of the NW Black Comedy Festival—and this year, we’re inviting Portland businesses, nonprofits, neighborhood organizations, restaurants, artists and community partners to build it with us.
After ten years of creating space for Black comedians to be seen, heard and celebrated, we’re entering a new chapter. February 18–21, 2027, we’re bringing the festival to Foster Theater in Southeast Portland, and we want the experience to extend beyond the theater doors. We want festival-goers discovering local businesses, eating at neighborhood restaurants, connecting with the community and putting their dollars back into the neighborhood.
There are lots of ways to participate: sponsorship, special offers, artist hospitality, cross-promotion, giveaways, events, in-kind support—or an idea we haven’t thought of yet. You don’t have to have a big budget to be part of this. We’re especially interested in partnerships that create real value for both our community and the businesses and organizations that support it.
So, Portland, let’s talk. If your business or organization wants to connect with the NW Black Comedy Festival and help us make Year 11 bigger, deeper and more connected to the community, reach out. We’re starting these conversations now and would love to hear from you.
