The Flythe Group, Inc. THE FLYTHE GROUP INC was initially founded in 2008 by Bernard H. The Flythe Group Inc was initially founded in 2008 by Bernard H. Mr.

Flythe at the request of his tax accountant, Donald McAllister, to help provide more financial stability to his self-employed status. The Flythe Group Inc is a small business that provides music entertainment, music lessons, and business administrative and marketing services. Once his small business was incorporated, he shifted the focus of the corporation to help market his musical expertise as well as showcase his talented students throughout Metro Atlanta. Flythe is currently serving as a freelance tuba artist-teacher in the area. He has also performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony, and the North Carolina Symphony.

It is with immense sadness we share the news of the passing of former CSO musician Peter Norton.

Peter served as Bass Trombonist with the Orchestra for 34 years before retiring at the end of the 2022-23 season. Norton appeared on countless Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recordings throughout his decades of service to the Orchestra. He shared his profound knowledge and talents with future generations of musicians both in private lessons and as an instructor at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music - CCM.

Peter will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, musical intellect, passion for teaching, distinct sound in every performance he gave, and his gifted musical legacy and impact on the trombone community.

He will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Following the devastating news that the SCAC board voted to withdraw funding from GGMC, our community has shown up in a big way to make one thing clear: LGBTQ+ voices matter, and they are an essential part of South Carolina’s arts and culture. We couldn’t agree more, and we’re not going anywhere anytime soon!

To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, or helped spread the word, thank you. Every contribution, at every level, has made a difference. Your generosity will help sustain our performances for the next few years as we navigate the uncertainty surrounding future funding at the state arts agency level.

We are so grateful for a community that continues to show up for GGMC and for the opportunity to keep doing this work. Thank you for helping us continue to bring LGBTQ+ voices to the stage in South Carolina.
