Can I blame young women? No.
Young women are rejecting patriarchal expectations that previous generations internalized. Once expected to shoulder emotional labor as a normal part of relationships, they are now more aware of the “costs of caring,” including suppressing their own needs. They’re less inclined to date, with 56% saying “it’s hard to find someone who meets their expectations,” compared to 35% of men. Read more:
