Founded in 1980, the Arts Chorale of Greater Lansing is a volunteer community ensemble of experienced singers from the Greater Lansing area. The membership of the Arts Chorale is comprised of individuals who represent a wide variety of professional backgrounds and includes residents from Lansing, East Lansing, and other surrounding communities. irected the group from 1983 until his retirement in the Spring of 2025 and is our Director Emeritus. Michael Huey-Jones joined the Arts Chorale as its director in the Spring of 2024. After years of teaching experience in Illinois
and Iowa, Michael began his graduate studies at MSU in 2022, completed his master’s degree and is pursuing his Doctorate in Musical Studies. The accompanist of the Arts Chorale, for over
30 years, is well-known area musician Judy Kabodian. Performing two major community concerts each year, the music of the 50+ member Arts Chorale showcases a variety of musical styles and periods, which include the works of Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi, Rutter, Sweelinck, Britten, Copland, Durufle, Effinger, Poulenc, Finzi and Foss. It rehearses once a week from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the East Lansing High
