Michigan State University's Saturday Morning Art program will only be held Spring Semester moving forward. The art education undergraduate program shifted from a five year certification program to a four year and therefore cannot provide the fall session anymore.

MSU's WeART (Wednesday Evening Art), formerly SmART (Saturday Morning Art) is open for registration for kids ages 7-18, with classes beginning on October 4th:

Due to the MSU home football schedule, Fall Semester Saturday Morning Art Program will be reconfigured as Wednesday Evening Art (WE Art) beginning Wednesday, October 5th and running through Wednesday, November 2nd. All classes will meet from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Kresge Art Center. A non-refundable materials fee of $70.00 per child is charged for the semester.

All classes will meet from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Kresge Art Center. A non-refundable materials fee of $70.00 per child is charged for the semester.

12 to 14 Year Old Group – (there will be two class sections for this age group)

Class 1 will focus on 2-D art, such as drawing skills, painting techniques, and the printmaking process.
Class 2 will focus on 3-D art by exploring additive and subtractive techniques with various materials such as ceramics, wood, and plaster.

15 to 18 Year Old Group – (there will be one class section for this age group)

Class 3 will include both 2-D and 3-D art projects, exploring the creative process on a more individual level. Projects will be more open to personal interests, incorporating visual thinking strategies to enhance the student’s final artistic creations.
