July 15, 2:30-4:30 - Slow Stitched Lino prints with Kathy Amerman

Craft Afternoons (with chocolate!) A Sweet New Series from JRAC:

JRAC invites you to indulge your curiosity and creativity with a new, monthly hands-on art experience — each one paired with a little chocolate to sweeten the afternoon. Hours are 2:30–4:30 pm. Explore a new craft or revisit a favorite technique while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow creatives.

In this workshop, students will be provided with a 12"x12" piece of fabric with a nature themed lino print. We will create a fabric sandwich and embellish the printed fabric with simple stitching techniques. The process is calming and fun. The projects can be finished at home with provided supplies.

Fees are by donation to cover supplies and/or instructors. Reservations are required; send email to [email protected] or call 231-536-3385.

Call for Entry: Roots

Entry deadline: June 29, 2026

Exhibition: July 19-August 29, 2026

What grounds us? What helps us grow? What stories from our past still shape us today? To mark our nation’s 250th year, the Jordan River Arts Council invites artists to create work inspired by “Roots”—our histories, backgrounds, and the experiences that make us who we are.
We welcome artwork that reflects personal, cultural, family, or environmental connections. Your “roots” might come from family traditions, cultural changes, the place you grew up, or anything that has influenced your identity and creativity.
All mediums welcome.

Entry Deadline: June 29, 2026

Submissions: Up to three entries per artist. Submit online at jordanriverarts.com, or download the PDF application and email it to [email protected].

Selection: Final decisions are made by the JRAC Exhibitions Committee. Space
limitations may apply.

Photo Requirements: Submit one overall image and one optional detail image per artwork. Photos are used for exhibit planning and promotional purposes.

Artwork Delivery:

All work must be gallery-ready.

Paintings/2D pieces must be dry and equipped with gallery wire (no sawtooth hangers).

Label each piece with: title, artist name, medium, size, and sale price (if applicable).

Include a completed Inventory Form (see below).
