Fly, currently works and lives in East Islip N.Y. . . Greg was born into the tattoo industry in 1973. His father, a pioneer of board of health approved tattooing on Long Island, J.C. Was also nationals first news letters feature artist and active member from the beginning in 1976
This afforded Greg the opportunity at a very early age to be introduced to and turned onto the art of Tattoo. Greg star
ted going to conventions and meeting all different folks since he was a young boy. In 1989 at 16 years old Greg would report to the shop and Tattoo every day alongside his father after high school in Medford Long Island. At 21 years old, Greg decided to branch out on his own and opened slinging ink in Patchogue Long Island. Being young and foolish and making some business mistakes this venture only lasted a year and a half. From there he went to work for Danny "smokin' gun"in Ronkonkoma. At 24, Greg then met his wife Jen and with her found he had the desire for the family life. Shortly after getting married and the birth of his first daughter Grace, sadly, he lost his Father in 2001 from kidney failure. Losing his mentor, teacher and advisor was a life changer for Greg. His desire for tattooing and the love of the art was now stronger then ever. It was truly the best "gift" his father ever gave him. Going forward his work would always be to honor his beloved father through the art. Greg now more mature, married and now the father of three he felt it was the time to give it another try opening a shop of his own. In February of 2006, he took a leap opening "the tattoo shop" in Medford as fate would have it the location was in the store next to The shop where him and his dad had worked side by side for many years. He had given an opportunity to Pepe to work along side him at this new shop. In 2013, an opportunity arose 2 miles away from his house a small 260 square foot store became available to Greg. It fell in his lap sort of speak and he couldn't deny the stars were aligning. He sold the shop in Medford and opened a solo shop, Greg Fly Inc. in East Islip N.Y. where he is currently tattooing. His customers some of which have been getting tattooed by Greg for 30 years are now referring and bringing in their grandchildren!! Greg has no plans on moving or changing things up for awhile except for a possible little fly breaking on to the scene in the next ten years or so.... "Keeping family traditions alive"
