AUDITION NOTICE: Driving Miss Daisy
Broadway on Main Theatre Company is seeking male actors for its upcoming production of Driving Miss Daisy, to be presented as part of Cabaret on Main Theater's Signature Series in East Haven, Connecticut.

AVAILABLE ROLES
Hoke Colburn (40s–60s)
A dignified, patient, and wise African American man hired by Daisy's son to be her chauffeur. Over the course of 25 years, he slowly breaks down Daisy's stern defenses, leading to a profound and lifelong friendship.

Boolie Werthan (40s)
Daisy's devoted but practical son. Caught between managing his mother's aging independence and navigating the societal and business norms of the mid-century South, he acts as the mediator and employer figure.

VIDEO AUDITIONS
Video auditions are now being accepted.
Actors are asked to submit:
A contemporary monologue
A brief slate stating their name and the role they are auditioning for
Headshot and résumé (encouraged if available)

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Driving Miss Daisy is a timeless and deeply moving story that explores friendship, dignity, aging, and the power of human connection. Spanning 25 years, the play follows the evolving relationship between Daisy Werthan, a strong-willed Southern widow, and Hoke Colburn, the chauffeur hired to drive her. Through humor, heart, and honesty, their unlikely bond transcends social barriers and changes both of their lives forever.
