Countryfolk Museum

Countryfolk Museum The Countryfolk Museum offers viewing of a variety of music, minerals & Model A’s.... We are now a rustic log sided building full of interesting memorabilia.

In 2017 our focus at Countryfolk changed for the future as we no longer host regular jam sessions ( after 18 years of summer weekend music). Our new name reflects the changes. "Countryfolk Music, Minerals & Whimsical Museum". We are open by chance or appointment during the summer months, which is always free and for families. We also host touring international / USA bicyclists and prospector's,

loan instruments to aspiring musicians ( young and older), display a variety of gems and minerals from Maine and beyond and showcase musical and historical items of a whimsical nature.....

We still enjoy spontaneous musical jam sessions ( we have recently added a vintage piano) and on occasion have been known to host antique autos and local art. We encourage family "rockhounding" as well as musical gatherings that bring family and community together.

Novels by Maine author, Larry E. Bisbee / Bisbee Books
“The Adventures of Billy Burrows” ( Fiction / Series )

“Western Dreams”
Billy Burrows travels from Maine to California by Jeep, with his emotional integrity challenged by nomadic humanity. This adventure-based romance shows Billy’s life is forever changed by the strength, power and passion of men and women he meets along the way. One, in particular, finds an emotional relationship difficult when separated by hundreds of miles. This saga of a wandering soul will entertain an ageless audience with humor, compassion and humility.

“In Maine & Spain”
Billy and his newfound love, Anna, travel from her New Mexico ranch to a Spanish hacienda to meet with owners of Andalusian “horses of nobility” destined for European slaughterhouses. Saving them becomes a priority. While in Spain, Anna finds an unplanned connection to the owners that will change her life forever.

“Lost in Maine”
Our young man, Billy Burrows, is flown into the western Maine wilderness to search for poachers who may be prospecting illegally on Abnaki tribal lands. However, a rockslide endangers his life until he finds himself being rescued by a possessive, axe-wielding female tribal member by the name of Songbird. A dizzying mystery unfolds when poachers find them on a wilderness trail. Billy’s family members try desperately to head them off on a muddy logging road.

“Mudbusters”
When a disastrous tornado strikes western Maine, Billy Burrows loses some of his best friends. There are several associated acts of heroism when military veterans and community come together to work successfully in times of distress. From mud runs to romance, Billy’s mental capacity is tested many times while under duress. Danger and romance prevail. A breakup with his true love is sure to cause even more heartache. Billy tries desperately to navigate between love and loss.

“Louisiana Love“ & “The Search” ( 2 books in one )
Billy Burrows needs a vacation of rest and relaxation in New Orleans following a tough winter’s work out west. On the train to The Big Easy, he meets the family of a storyteller with a mesmerizing tale to tell. There may be romancing in the private roomette, that is, until an attractive female conductor appears. But, there’s much more to the story as the plot thickens. There are dark secrets yet to be discovered as a magical web of intrigue unfolds. An unexpected romance surfaces involving more danger than is expected. Plus, an old flame is determined to mend her relationship with Billy, so sparks may fly when they all arrive in the Crescent City, at the same time.

“The Search”
Following a plane crash in the Pyrenees Mountains near the French-Spanish border, Billy Burrows’ life changed dramatically. Only a handful survived. Five are still missing. Billy, as a survivor, organizes a private search team to find a special woman in his life. Painful memories and exasperation dominate the search that encompasses weeks of tedious interviews, embassy contacts and follow-ups. The search would take them from Barcelona in the north to Seville in the south of Spain. No one knows how it will end after a plot and personal vendetta is uncovered.
