Hello,
We would like to invite young people in your schools and programs to join us for ASL Night! ASL Night is a celebration of Deaf art and culture. We have some events especially for younger visitors. The artists, performers, and presenters are Deaf, and they are paired with interpreters who will translate into spoken English.
Everything is free! Free admission starts at 4:00 pm.
From 4:00 – 6:00 pm there is a painting activity led by artist-educator Mary Simmons. Drop in anytime.
Next door to the artmaking will be a gallery featuring the work of 4 different artists!
*** From 5:00 – 5:45 we have the incredible Magician Steve Weiner ***
From 5:30 – 6:30 we have an Artists Tool Cart with a focus on Sculpture
At 6:30 we have welcoming remarks (we promise they will be short!)
And at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 pm Spotlight talks on the Deaf Artist John Brewster. Especially good for teens.
