Stranger Sings, The Parody Musical
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Jonathan Hogue
10/31-11/14 The Storyteller Theater
Take a trip back to Hawkins, Indiana: 1983… when times were simpler, hair was bigger, and unsupervised children were getting snatched by inter-dimensional creatures. A hilarious ‘upside down’ take on the hit Netflix series - and all its campy 1980s glory. Join Mike, Eleven, Lucas, Dustin, and the whole Hawkins gang for a night of adventure, thrills, pubescent angst, heavy synth, poor parenting, convoluted love triangles, cheap effects, dancing monsters, and maybe, just maybe... justice for everyone’s favorite missing ginger, Barb Holland.

By Lauren Gunderson
4/16-4/24 The Storyteller Theater
Wracked with grief, coder Merril creates an A.I. chatbot that can perfectly recreate her deceased sister Angie. But what happens when Angie has to meet other people? The taut thriller asks questions about grief, loss, and technological advancement. Lauren Gunderson’s script plays with elements of murder mystery, family saga, and modern techno-thriller, and explores the ways that artificial intelligence and new developments in technology could not help and hinder the progress of those mourning a loved one.
Fall Springs, A Musical Disaster
Music and Lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos
Book and Lyrics by Peter Nachtrieb
Fall Springs is a semi-charming landlocked cash-strapped town that sits directly on top of America's largest reserve of cosmetic Essential Oils. With new fracking techniques being recklessly implemented, the ground beneath Fall Springs is beginning to crumble. Streets are cracking and buckling. Only Eloise Bradley, nerdy teenage existential wallflower geology-buff daughter of single parent Mayor Robert Bradley seems to notice that a great catastrophe is imminent.
Dramatic action sequences, parent/child angst, lost limbs, found souls, and a rocking, driving, passionate hook-filled score, Fall Springs takes the best of musical theatre and disaster films to forge a hilarious and heartfelt musical comedy about the consequences of pushing Nature too far and what happens when our routine lives become interrupted and we're forced to sacrifice to save what we love.
Spring Awakening
Book & Lyrics by Steven Sater
Music by Duncan Sheik
*a Co-Production with The Arts Hub*
Spring Awakening is a coming-of-age rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. It is based on the 1891 German play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Set in late 19th-century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of adolescent sexuality. In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score.
