Allensworth Progressive Association and Union of Concerned Scientists have released a new mini-documentary, "The Town that Chose to Thrive," about the community of Allensworth in the Central Valley, California. Allensworth is building a resilient, self-determined future through sustainable land management and agricultural practices. As told through community voices, the video discusses the town's history and social and environmental injustices, outlines how Allensworth is practicing regenerative agriculture and land stewardship principles to create a sustainable local economy, and looks towards a future where other communities adopt similar food and energy sovereignty systems.
