35th Annual ART & ROSES

June 7- Julia Davis Park- 10am ->5pm

Come visit this Sunday. There over 100 artists, music from the Idaho Songs Writers, food trucks, kids activities, not to mention a wonderful walk in JD Park.

I am located in booth 46. Along the sidewalk directly behind the Boise Art Museum and near the Rose Garden. Each year all Artists donate a percentage of sales to maintain the Rose Garden - hence Art & Roses. #

The Magic Valley Art & Soul event is up and running. This is my entry exhibited at Middkekauf Ford. They have supported my Sizzle Glass since 2019.

For the 2nd year, Moss Greenhouse from Jerome has sponsored my entry. I stopped by their business today & holy cow what fabulous plants.

POINTILLIST FLOWER

15” in diameter x 2” deep
Nearly 2500 hand cut pieces create my version of Pointillism – a painting technique developed in the late 1800’s whereby the artist applied dots to create their art. The viewer’s eye and brain would optically blend the colors to create the overall image. My twist is that the dots on the flower petals are flowers.

These large (15” diameter) bowls are all created with CBS (Coatings by Sandberg) dichroic glass. The print style is called “Voltage” for obvious reasons. Sometimes the glass does all the talking.

I have been invited to participate in the 2026 St. George Art Festival. This celebration of art has been happening Easter weekend since 1980. Originally a showcase for a handful of local artists, the Festival is now a prestigious, juried exhibition of works from nearly 200 nationally – and internationally – acclaimed artisans. Such a privilege to be included.

Art, music & food vendors all at the City of St. George’s picturesque, Historic Town Square.

Working on a few different things. Just finished a class on Contemporary Yantra. VERY linear & geometric. Boy howdy did this take me out of my comfort zone. Not done yet, but almost.
AND, a new window. Some of the flowers will change color once they go into the kiln. Lots of pinks, yellows and oranges, with ruby & crimson tints. Finished it should be around 20” square. Stay tuned for the final products in a couple weeks.
