Mother Nature isn’t doing us any favors this week. We have a good base, but will be battling warm daytime temperatures. We recommend skating in the mornings before noon and in the afternoons from 4:30pm until close (8 to 9pm) until daytime temperatures get back down below 30 degrees. Please stay off the boards on the north end of the rink. The new liner is exposed and we want to avoid damaging it. Thanks for your cooperation!

The first clue that it may have been too warm to make ice is that it was shorts weather 🤣

The Minneapolis Park Board struggled mightily to offer its iconic neighborhood park ice rinks in a historically warm winter, racking up expenses of nearly $890,000 for eight days of skating at 45 neighborhood park rink before they melted.

The Eagle Town Park Ice Rink is a free community amenity operated by volunteers and funded through the Eagle Valley Skating Association 501c3 nonprofit. We are grateful for generous donations from community sponsors including the Town of Eagle, Alpine Lumber, Eagle County, and Alliance Moving Systems. Our sweeper unexpectedly broke down last week and will need $2,400 in repairs. We are extremely thankful for the loaner from the Town of Eagle and for John Eaton’s assistance with repairs. The rink liners are also nearing the end of their useful life, and we have an opportunity to buy new ones from Wylaco Supply on sale for $3,200. We need help raising funds for these expenses. Please consider making a tax deductible donation through our go fund me account. With gratitude for all of our supporters who contribute to helping make the rinks happen 🙏
