I’ve got a few other sticks in the fire for projects, but have started an idea for an installation of sorts..as summer creeps near, one of my garden nemesis will be returning..the Japanese beetle..so beautiful but destructive.

I made a few of varying sizes (big ones coming outta the kiln soon!) but settled on this hand-sized fella and made a plaster mold, so now I’m popping out these little babies pretty quick.

I imagine 25 or more of them, mounted on a wall painted in green confetti leaves, the destructive pattern those beautiful bastards leave.

We will see if I have the longevity to actually make a bunch, or perhaps I just wanted to scratch the bug and mold making itch it had on my brain, but either way, so far it’s been fun.
