2017 Frontera Film Festival Itinerary
Film competition is open to: all 7th -12th grade students, college students, and to non-lucrative indie producers. FFF CATEGORIES:
NON-FILM CATEGORIES:
1.Sports Video - video, audio compilation sports action in sync with music and or voice narration. . ( time limit: 2-5 minutes w/credits included)
2.Cheer/Dance Video - video, audio compilation focusing on d
ance and or cheer team performances in sync with music and or voice narration. . (time limit: 2-5 minutes w/credits included)
3.Music Video - video, audio compilation focusing on synchronization between original video performance and accompanying music. (time limit: 2-5 minutes w/credits included)
4.Informative Story - original news story / documentary that presents data based on factual records or information of formidable consequences and significance. (5 extra seconds for credits)
6. 30 Second Original Commercial - must be exactly 30 seconds long and must promote any product or service. (5 extra seconds for credits)
FILM CATEGORIES:
1.Film Short - (30 seconds to 2 minutes / credits included)
fictional or non-fiction film that covers any genre such as comedy, drama, thriller… and is between the time limit of thirty seconds to two minutes long, including credits.
2.Film Short - (2 minutes to 5 minutes / credits included)
fictional or non-fiction film that covers any genre such as comedy, drama, thriller… and is between the time limit of two minutes to five minutes long, including credits.
3.Film Short - (5 minutes to 8 minutes / credits included)
fictional or non-fiction film that covers any genre such as comedy, drama, thriller… and is between the time limit of five minutes to eight minutes long, with credits included.
4.Film Short - (8 minutes to 12 minutes / credits included)
fictional or non-fiction film that covers any genre such as comedy, drama, thriller… and is between the time limit of eight minutes to twelve minutes long, with credits included.
5.Experimental – (30 seconds to 5 minutes / credits included)
Original visuals captured through a camera lens combined with any audio (i.e.-sound effects, spoken dialogue, written dialogue, and or instrumental music. (stop-motion - {clay or drawn} would be considered experimental / can include a combination of live action with CGI - use of green screen).
6.Animation – (:10 seconds to 1:00 minute / credits included)
Animation - Visuals generated within a computer animation software combined with any audio, including sound effects, instrumentals, human dialogue either spoken or written,
FFF RULES:
-Dialogue may not contain foul language or derogative remarks.
-Scenes may not contain any nudity or obscene images.
-Scenes may not contain any images of overexposed blood and gore.
-Musical compositions may be used as long as the authors are given credit.
-Soundtracks or musical compositions may not contain foul language or derogative remarks.
-If the dialogue contains any other language other than English, that certain part must include subtitles. FFF SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1.All festival entries must be submitted by Friday, May 1, 2015.
2. All entries must be submitted in a external hard drive with the capacity to hold the festival entries in a Quicktime Movie format / Apple Pro Res 422 / 1920 x 1080 / 30 fps.
3. Please make sure that the external hard drive is properly identified with the school or independent producer identification information / the external storage hard drive will be returned after FFF award ceremony.
4. A list of all entries submitted by a school or independent producer must: have the following information on a typed Word document file on the external storage hard drive with the movie name, movie category, director /or/ producer, running time, school / or / independent company name.
5.Individuals are not limited to how many entries they may submit to the festival. Although some festival entries might qualify for several categories, the rule states that you may only submit one entry per category.
6.Submit payment for entry fee(s) by check or money order / or purchase order / made out to: C. Winn AAVTC Club. Mail entries to:
