Seeking Two Actors (1M, 1F) for Celebrity Shoe-in with Intergenerational Theatre Productions

Intergenerational Theatre Productions is immediately seeking two adult actors - one man and one woman - for it's current production of new comedy, Celebrity Shoe-in by Dez Sobiech.
Auditions for these two roles will be scheduled individually March 13-March 17, with casting complete by March 18. Rehearsals run March 19- April 25, Performances April 26, 27, 28, 29.

The play: It’s the final day of shooting for fairy-tale reality show Celebrity Shoe-In, and you have a prime seat to the finale. See how beloved fairytale characters have adjusted after their ‘happily ever after’ as they go head-to-head to win the grand prize - the golden egg. With tensions rising between the ‘royals’ and the common contestants, an unlikely budding romance, a host trying to make her big comeback, and a producer who sees and hears everything, this family friendly comedy is full of laughs and a tender message of love and acceptance.

Roles to be cast:

Robby (M, Age 20-35): Production Manager for Celebrity Shoe-In, he’s there to make sure the show goes off without a hitch. Or is he…? Calm leader, dry humor.
Lady Tremaine (F, Age 45-65): Host of Celebrity Shoe-In, she’s trying to live down her reputation as the wicked step mother - not very successfully. Verbose, haughty, flair for drama.

We are also seeking a Stage Management Intern!

Seeking an intern age 16+ to assist the Stage Manager of Celebrity Shoe-In. Duties include: Aiding in tracking blocking, props, and tech cues, assisting in time management and the running of rehearsals, general organization, and working backstage during tech and performances. A great opportunity for a young person interested in theater to increase their knowledge of technical theater, see first hand what goes into running a production, and learn valuable leadership and organizational skills.

Celebrity Shoe-In
Intergenerational Theatre Productions (ITP) is holding auditions for their production of “Celebrity Shoe-In,” which will be directed by Chava Curland.

We are auditioning men and women, and boys and girls (ages 6 and up) for Celebrity Shoe-in. Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script. An audition form with your availability for rehearsals can be filled out when you arrive. Bring your calendar and acting resumé/headshot if you have one. Come prepared to move and play!

Lady Tremaine: Host of Celebrity Shoe-In, she’s trying to live down her reputation as the wicked step mother - not very successfully.

Baby Bear: Contestant. Her tough exterior masks her inner fear. Quote: “I don’t generally trust anyone. On anything.”

Hansel: Contestant. Very competitive and business-minded. Quote: “All I want is to win.”

Gretel: Contestant. Kind and down-to-earth, she misses her close relationship with Hansel. Quote: “All I want is the old Hansel back.”

Mermaid: Contestant. Recently became human. Incredibly optimistic and enthusiastic about life. Quote: “I just know we’re all going to become the best of friends!”

Frog Prince: Contestant. Nobody loves the prince as much as the prince himself. Quote: “…some were born to rule, and others were born to serve.”

Red: Contestant. Opinionated and outspoken, Red is not a fan of the royals. Quote: “That puffed up prince and her majesty the mermaid are not taking home the egg…”

Cat: Contestant. A mellow musician, Cat is always laid back and cool. Quote: “I’m going with the flow.”

Mary: Contestant. A 10-year-old girl whose only friend is her pet lamb. Mary is quiet but very smart. Quote: “I’m here because my parents made me come.”

Other ensemble roles include - Old Lady (lives in a shoe), Footman, Erv (little pig), a good Fairy, and the Ugly Stepsisters.
