For the past 13 years, The Magical Light Show has become so much more than Christmas lights to our family. ❤️🎄✨
It has become part of our Christmas tradition, our community, and something we have put so much love into year after year.
That is what makes this announcement so difficult to share.
‼️After 13 unforgettable years, this Christmas will be the final year of The Magical Light Show. ❤️
Our family has gone back and forth on how to say those words because this display has become such a huge part of our lives. Thinking about turning those lights on for the final season already brings tears to our eyes.
For 13 years, we have watched families pull up with excitement, children stare at the lights in amazement, and parents create Christmas memories with their kids. Some families have been coming to see us year after year, and knowing that we were able to become even a small part of your Christmas traditions means more to us than we could ever put into words.
What started as something our family simply loved doing has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. Over the years, The Magical Light Show became one of Northwest Indiana’s biggest Christmas light displays—a place where our community could come together, enjoy the magic of Christmas, create lasting memories, and most importantly, help us give back to those in need.
Because of all of you, we have been able to collect thousands of Lake County IN Toys For Tots and Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation over the years. Thousands of gifts went to children who deserved to feel that same excitement and magic on Christmas morning. That will always be one of the proudest parts of this entire journey. 🎁❤️
We are also incredibly proud of just how far The Magical Light Show was able to reach. What began right here at our home went on to be featured on national television, multiple local news networks, calendars, newspapers, and other media throughout the years.
Seeing something our family built with love receive that kind of recognition is something we will never forget. We never started this for attention or recognition—we simply wanted to spread Christmas joy—but watching our little light show grow into something that reached people far beyond our neighborhood has been truly unbelievable.
There were countless long nights, freezing nights, repairs, decorating, planning, and hours of work behind the scenes—but every single bit of it was worth it when we saw the smiles, heard the laughter, and read the messages from families telling us how much the display meant to them.
Our family is heartbroken that this chapter is coming to an end, but our hearts are also incredibly full. We feel so blessed that for 13 years, you allowed our family to share a little Christmas magic with yours. To everyone who ever drove by, brought your children, donated a toy, shared our posts, told your friends, watched us on the news, or simply stopped to enjoy the lights—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You helped make The Magical Light Show what it became.
This Christmas, we hope you’ll join us one last time.
One final opening night.
One final season.
One final Christmas filled with lights, music, smiles, and memories. ❤️
13 years of memories that our family will carry with us forever.
Let’s make the final year of The Magical Light Show the most magical one yet. 🎄❤️
More information will be coming throughout the next few weeks.
