is going to live on Saturday night! Don’t miss who be holding the dance floor down from booth!

Miss Ashley:

“Organic melodic beats that will take anyone on a transformative musical journey” is how Washington, D.C. native Miss Ashley describes her DJing style, a sound shaped by her lifelong affinity with dance music. Now recognized as one of the Triangle area’s talented House DJs, she is committed to sharing her rapidly growing platform with the Raleigh music community. After years of honing her craft, she stepped from the dance floor into the booth in 2021, quickly making her mark through events, residencies, and weekly open decks at Clockwork. Drawing inspiration from artists like Rodriguez Jr., Spencer Brown, Lost Desert, Sébastien Léger, and Tim Green, she is also an avid fan of the Anjunadeep label and All Day I Dream, influences that continue to shape her evolving, melodic house sound.

Our Story

The Floor creates gatherings of people that highlight the transformative power of house and techno music, elude formal structures of control, spark uninhibited creativity, and amplify the talents of local DJs.

Originally founded in 2012 as the Durham party collective Shut Up and Dance, The Floor carries on the original mission of creating an inclusive and inviting dance music scene in Durham. With humble beginnings in Motorco's Garage Bar (now Parts & Labor), The Floor has thrown down at some of Durham's best venues including the Motorco Showroom, 21c Museum Hotel, The Rooftop at The Durham, Mercury Studios (now Mothership), Arcana Lounge, Surf Club, and The Fruit—where you can find us throwing our 3rd Saturday monthly party, "Foundations."

Producers of the fabled Moogfest after parties at The Fruit, The Floor provides an underground experience many are surprised to find in Durham.

Before attending our events, we kindly ask that you read our house rules and inclusion commitment statement (https://www.thefloor919.com/house-rules). We thank you in advance for helping us make FOUNDATIONS a safe and welcoming event for people of all backgrounds and identities.
