Poetry on the Buses was launched in 2010 by Professor Deborah Pope and Beverly Meek, an assistant in the arts outreach and communication program at Duke University. As part of the 2014 Salon: An Evening of Poetry, The Archive is having a Haiku Competition! If case you’ve forgotten, the syllabic structure of a haiku is 5/7/5. The theme and topic of the haiku are completely up to you. Make it funny, deep, or even nonsensical if you'd like. The winning haiku will be read at the Salon and the poet will win a $20 gift voucher to the Regulator. Submit your haikus to [email protected]. The deadline is 11:59pm, this Thursday, 11/13.

An example for you all:
I see you driving
Round town with the girl I love
And I’m like haiku
