Here’s what’s new - Welding 101: Scrap Sculptures!

Grasp the welding basics, but with a sculptural flair! In Welding 101: Scrap Sculptures, students learn the quick and gritty basics of welding, fabrication, and safe tool use in an approachable studio environment. This class is especially well suited for artists interested in incorporating metal and fabricated materials into a sculptural body of work.

Sign up for the next session on June 9th, or check out our other Welding class offerings!

This season’s cohort of the Iron Heroes Program has been a success! We greatly appreciate the support of our community members & partners who attended last Friday’s aluminum pour and fundraiser.

Led by artist Tripp Jarvis, this group of five veterans expertly cast their aluminum Hero Masks in the Liberty Arts Foundry. The community observed while creating masks and scratch tiles of their own. The proceeds from each workshop registration directly supported the continuation of the Iron Heroes Program.

It’s not too late to show your support by making a donation. The Fall 2026 Iron Heroes Cohort will begin in September, and we are so excited for this group to be a part of the 10th Annual Liberty Arts Iron Pour. With your help, we can make it happen! Visit the link in our bio to make a donation today!

Stay tuned as next week we’ll reveal the finished artwork created by the Spring 2026 Iron Heroes!

The big day is almost here! Iron Heroes Week 7 is now complete, and the students will cast their masks in aluminum on Friday! This week, they put the finishing touches on their molds, and completed several dry runs of the casting process to ensure safe practices while handling molten aluminum.

You can watch the magic happen THIS FRIDAY by joining us outside of the Liberty Arts Foundry around 7:00 PM. Between 6 and 8:30, participate in workshops to make your own version of an Iron Heroes Mask, or join in on the casting fun by carving an aluminum tile.

You can also support the Iron Heroes Program by donating now using the link in our bio!

We can’t wait to see you on Friday, May 15th from 6 to 9 PM in the Durham Food Hall’s Looseleaf Gallery for the opening reception of The Spring Ephemeral by Alysa Cantor . And we know you can’t wait to see this work!

The Spring Ephemeral takes its name from the plants that complete their entire life cycle in the fleeting window before the forest canopy closes. This collection of experimental cyanotypes and mixed media serves as a series of field notes on transience.

This exhibition is an invitation to recognize the porous exchange between our outer and inner landscapes, and to find that sustained, patient attention is the most profound way to honor the fleeting.

Be sure to RSVP using the event link in our bio. We’ll see you there!
