⛷🏂Registration for the Outreach Program Ski/Ride Program will open tomorrow (10/1)!

Durham P&R is excited to partner with Gunstock Mountain Resort again this winter to offer the Outreach Ski/Ride Program to the Oyster River community. The Outreach Program is open to those ages 8–18. Pre-registration is required for each individual interested in participating in the program.
Registrants have the option to select a Midweek or Prime Pass and participate in four 50-minute group lessons that take place on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. throughout January. Equipment rentals are also available at no additional cost to participants for the four lesson dates. (Free rentals are available only for the four lesson days, not for the entire season.)

For those who do not wish to participate in the four lesson dates, a “Pass Only” option is available, with both the Midweek and Prime Pass options to choose from.

DPR registration for the Outreach Program will open October 1st and closes November 13th.
Tier One Pass pricing runs from October 1–24.
Tier Two Pass pricing ($50 pass increase) runs from October 25–November 14.
There are no exceptions to these deadlines, so please register early!

🍂 The Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race & Fun Run- Will We See You Out There Again This Year?

Registration is OPEN for the 6th Annual Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race & 1-Mile Fun Run!

If you’ve joined us for the Trot in the Trees in the past, you know this isn’t your typical 5K! Come back and tackle the trails, the leaves, the mud, the roots and, of course, the famous “hay-bale hurdle”, all while enjoying a beautiful fall morning with our community.

The Oyster River Youth Association, Durham Parks & Recreation, and Madbury Recreation have teamed up again for this annual community race.

📍 Tibbetts Field, Madbury, NH
🏃 1-Mile Fun Run – 9:30 AM
🏃‍♂️ 5K Trail Race – 10:00 AM

The 5K winds through the local trails surrounding Tibbetts Field, including a scenic 2-mile loop through Powder Major Forest. Expect natural terrain, roots, mud, plenty of fall leaves and a few fun challenges along the way! The 1-Mile Fun Run gives our younger runners a chance to experience the trails, too.

Run for a Reason
A portion of race proceeds supports youth recreation scholarships for Oyster River community members who need financial assistance with registration fees for programs offered by Oyster River Youth Association and Durham Parks & Recreation.

Whether you ran with us last year, have made the Trot a yearly tradition, or have never tackled the course before, we hope you’ll join this Sunday!

Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race & 1-Mile Fun Run is right around the corner and we are looking forward to seeing all of the runner back out on the trail!
The Oyster River Youth Association, Durham Parks & Recreation, and Madbury Recreation Commission have teamed up again for the 6th Annual Trot in the Trees 5K Trail Race and 1-Mile Fun Run. The race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, at Tibbetts Field in Madbury, NH. The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Trail Race at 10:00 a.m.
The trail will wind through the local trails surrounding Tibbetts Field, including a 2-mile loop through Powder Major Forest, giving participants a great fall trail-running experience. Runners will have to negotiate natural terrain, roots, mud, plenty of fall leaves, and the “hay-bale hurdle” to finish the race!
