Unfortunately I have reached the point of needing to start my maternity leave since Lottie is very close to making her arrival. Working at Dark Age has been so much fun and I am going to miss being away for so long but I will return!

Maternity leave will start August 19th and I’m looking to return to piercing after the new year.

Andy Reeder will be piercing at Dark Age Tuesdays - Saturdays so be sure to reach out to him for questions, concerns, or get a new piercing from him! He can also help upgrade jewelry and really help you show off those healed piercings.

I can still answer questions but of course I will have a newborn so answers may take a few days. If it is an emergency go ahead and reach out to Andy Reeder or Dark Age Tattoo Studio to make sure you get help when you need it. I will post closer to the new year to announce when I plan on returning and maybe even feature some kind of discount 👀 so be sure to be on the lookout the closer to the new year we get.

My first time ever getting to do Mantis Piercings!
I’m obsessed with how they came out. Cannot wait to upgrade my friend’s jewelry in the future and hopefully get to do more of these piercings.

When I get back from maternity leave in the new year I will have these added as a booking option on my website. Super excited to see what fun new piercing projects I’ll get to be apart of next year Dark Age Tattoo Studio !!!

Super fun getting to pierce my coworkers conch with this beautiful piece. Gonna be watching it closely as it heals because it is a big piece but it fits beautifully in her ear.

DISCLAIMER: This is a coworker where I can closely monitor the progression of healing. I do not normally pierce with pieces quite this large initially as I understand they come with risks and challenges. Coworker is well aware as well of these and gave full consent.

I’m getting married exactly a week from today!

I will be out of the studio June 12th-14th and June 17th-24th.

As exciting as that is I know it’s the summer and piercing problems can happen, but I’d never leave my clients to fend for themselves. So below are my piercer recommendations if you do run into problems or have questions. I also ask that you respect their policies and procedures as every piercer has their own boundaries.

First and foremost our piercer Andy ( ) will be in until June 21st at and is a great piercer!

If Andy is unavailable then Aces here in Denton would be my next recommendation.

and from Midgard in Dallas are also amazing and can definitely help with troubleshooting.

You can reach out to me and I will eventually get back to you but it may take 2-3 days or longer so don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the other piercers listed. Especially if it’s a piercing emergency which includes but is not limited to: infection, embedding, major irritation issues, or rejection.

I know everyone hates looking like they have antennas on their face when it comes to new piercings, but especially for lip piercings. I promise there’s a good reason we start with that longer post and that would be because of swelling!

Some people swell very little and others can swell a ton. Each person is different and heals differently. Swelling after a new piercing is also affected by your environment. Some regions clients can heal without much swelling and other regions clients can experience quite a bit of swelling.

All that’s to say we want your piercing to have that room to swell as it can be unpredictable to know how much a person may swell and how long it may last. We’ll give you an estimate time for downsizing your jewelry, but that is just a suggestion not the rule.

The two photos above were taken less than 24 hours apart from each other. They are a great example of why we want to start with a longer post. We’ll be doing our first downsize after only a week because by the fourth day her swelling had already subsided. Remember healing is not one size fits all!
