A big thank you to the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra's Canal String Quartet for a WONDERFUL performance Sunday afternoon on our altar stage.
The concert featured "Exodus for String Quartet" composed by Haiti-born, Duluth resident Jean "Rudy" Perrault. Rudy, a music professor at University of Minnesota Duluth, was in the audience and discussed the piece prior to performance.
The Canal String Quartet, which includes David Arnott, viola; Byron Klimek, cello; Lian Ojkangas, violin; and Kristin Sande, violin, also performed "String Quartet No. 7 in F Major" by Ludwig van Beethoven.
What a great afternoon of music!

SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Don't miss the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra debut a new chamber quartet our beautiful altar stage. The Canal String Quartet will perform “Exodus,” a three-movement work dedicated to all those forced from their homelands, by local Haitian American composer Jean “Rudy” Perrault. The piece will be paired with the first of Beethoven’s famous “Razumovsky” Quartets.

What an AMAZING two nights of Duluth Dylan Festival music!
So much talent in the Singer-Songwriter Contest it was difficult to pick winners Friday night. Twin Cities supergroup Dan Israel & Friends rocked the house during their Bob Dylan tribute concert. .

George and his Centerville All Stars were regulars at our Duluth Does tribute shows. His "Comfortably Numb" guitar solo wrapping up the 2023 Duluth Does Pink Floyd show was a masterpiece! He will be missed and remembered forever!

With a career spanning seven decades, Zissos was a member of bands including the Centerville All Stars and Atlantis II.

THANKS to Lanue and Saltydog for a FANTASTIC concert last Friday night on the altar stage!
Longtime Duluth artist Sarah Krueger and her latest project Lanue, now based in Eau Claire, Wis., performed a set of songs that included new work and old favorites.
Duluth jam/funk favorites Saltydog staged an entirely original set that ended with a frontman Jacob Mahon leading a line of dancers out onto the music center front foyer.
What a great night of music!

Don't miss Duluth Dylan Festival events on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage THIS WEEKEND!
On FRIDAY it's the Singer-Songwriter Contest featuring a dozen local and not-so-local musicians competing for top honors. Each performing an original song and one of Bob's. Music at 7.
On SATURDAY it's the Music of with Dan Israel and Friends. A supergroup of Twin Cities musicians hits the stage playing Bob's best work from throughout his career. Music at 7.
