The doors have closed on an incredible first day at the Gas South Convention Center! From meeting so many of you at the Snake Discovery booth to seeing all the amazing new reptiles find homes, today was one for the records.

Post-Expo Care & Safe Travel Reminder!

You've brought home an amazing new animal from the Southeast Reptile Expo! Now, the first few hours and weeks are crucial for a smooth, safe transition.

🚗 SAFETY FIRST: VEHICLE TRANSPORTATION Before you even leave the parking lot, please ensure your vehicle is not too hot or too cold! Extreme temperatures can be fatal. If it's cold, turn up the heat; if it's hot, turn on the A/C (not too hot, or too cold, though). BEST TIP: Keep your new reptile in a insulated container and away from direct drafts or sunlight during the trip home.

🏠 AT HOME TIPS:

Quarantine is Key: Always keep new additions isolated from current pets for 60-90 days to monitor health.

Keep it Quiet: Limit handling to the absolute minimum for the first week to let your new friend settle into their environment.

Monitor Temps/Humidity: Double-check that your enclosure's setup is perfect.

Your dedication to excellent care ensures a happy, healthy pet! Set them up for success with research on proper care and husbandry and don't forget to ask questions and grab a business card when taking your new pet home.
