ArtsNOW

ArtsNOW Integrated learning is powerful learning. For over 20 years, ArtsNOW has been leading the way in reshaping education to bring learning to life.

By integrating visual, digital, and performing arts into core classroom curriculum, we set the stage for teachers to be more confident and effective in their teaching, and students are more engaged for greater academic and personal achievement.

Funding comes from many different places for our partner schools, and we are so grateful to Alpharetta Elementary PTO for sponsoring our work in their school. Their community dollars are going directly into professional learning for their teachers, who in turn are able to provide more opportunities for engaged learning & student achievement in their classrooms. We love to see it! 🎉

For this week's feature, we're staying in the Augusta, GA region with Warren Road Elementary School🌟

Warren Road is another school in the Richmond County School System that we've had the pleasure of serving over the last few years, thanks to generous support from the Chestnut Family Foundation.

This school community has embraced arts integration with joy! Throughout the building, creativity is sparking curiosity, strengthening critical thinking, and helping students build confidence through meaningful, hands-on learning.🎨

We are incredibly grateful to partner with Warren Road, and to continue strengthening our relationship with new leadership this year. We 💙 our partner schools!

Back in the spring, we shared that ArtsNOW received the 2026 South Carolina Governor's Award for the Arts - Organization. This summer, we celebrated it!🎉 🏆

This award recognizes our work advancing arts-integrated learning across the state. It is a huge honor to our team, but it also belongs to the educators who welcome creativity into their classrooms, the school leaders who invest in innovative teaching, and the students who bring learning to life through visual arts, music, dance, digital arts, and theatre.

We gathered this summer for a reception and award ceremony at the Columbia Museum of Art with our team, partners, and supporters. Special thank you to Ashley Brown from the South Carolina Arts Commission for her presentation of the award.

As a new school year kicks off, we're carrying this momentum forward, expanding access to arts-integrated learning across South Carolina and beyond.

This week's spotlight is another amazing partner school in Augusta, GA -
T. Harry Garrett Elementary School✨

Thanks to generous funding from the Chestnut Family Foundation, T. Harry Garrett is heading into their fourth year with ArtsNOW! Led by principal Stacey Walk, the school community has embraced the power of arts-integrated learning and has truly become a place were creativity thrives.🎭🎨🎵

We’re proud to partner with such an incredible school and community and can’t wait to see how they continue to grow. Cheers to another great year together!🌟

Need classroom inspiration? Take a peek into a recent curriculum mapping session!

This curriculum map at Bryant Park Elementary School shows exactly what arts integration looks like when it's planned intentionally.

All grade levels. Classroom standards at the center. Art form standards integrated to support understanding & demonstration of learning through the arts.

Let’s take a science standard about life cycles, for example:
🎶 Through music, students compose a song or chant that tells the story of an organism's life cycle.

🎭 Through theatre, they use their bodies and facial expressions to pantomime and sequence each stage.

🪩 Through dance, they choreograph movement that mimics how a plant or animal changes as it grows.

🎨Through visual arts, they use modeling clay to show the sequence of a life cycle using shapes, lines, and colors.

Every approach hits the same standard (plus fine arts standards simultaneously!), and every student finds their way through something that clicks for them.

This is arts integration. Tag an educator or school who could use this for inspo! 💛

This is why we do what we do. 💛

Meet Avery, a student who attended J.C. Lynch Elementary School, one of our ArtsNOW partner schools in Florence County School District Three, who is now thriving at J. Paul Truluck Creative Arts & Science Magnet School. She shares what arts-integrated learning means to her, and what it still means as she carries those experiences forward.

Stories like Avery's are the reason ArtsNOW shows up every day. When students experience learning through the arts, when they're given the chance to move, create, collaborate, and connect, something shifts. Confidence grows. Curiosity deepens. And the impact follows them well beyond the classroom.

This work is made possible by the people and organizations who believe in it enough to invest in it. Behind every student like Avery is a teacher we served, a school we partnered with, and a community that said yes to arts integration. Help us keep saying yes. artsnowlearning.org/give 💛

This week's celebrates a school that has become one of the true cornerstones of our ArtsNOW community - Hephzibah Elementary School in Augusta, Georgia. 💛

Hephzibah is entering their 8th year with ArtsNOW, and that kind of longevity speaks for itself. It takes a school community that chooses to show up, go deeper, and keep growing, year after year.

A big part of what makes this partnership successful is Principal Joseph (Josh) Workman, who stays connected with the ArtsNOW work, bringing his team to our summer Foundational Seminars every year and attending our Principals' Network Conference himself yearly.

We're deeply grateful to the Chestnut Family Foundation for the generous support that makes this partnership possible.

Drop a 💛 to show Hephzibah some love this week!
